Synopsis

Into a spooky old vicarage, with a near bankrupt owner, come an alluring nymphomaniac, two dodgy antique dealers, a dotty aunt, and a vicar with a guilty secret - just for starters. Throw in a body, a couple of skeletons, an investigative journalist, a valuable painting, an ancient gardener and his simple grandson and you have all the elements for this laugh-a-minute comedy. Ah! - nearly forgot the Phantom Monk. The action takes place in an old vicarage recreated from a vicarage near Chelmsford, where ancient graves are a stone’s throw away from the study window and the church clock booms loudly. Owls hoot at midnight, skeletons have been dug up from the garden path, and ghosts may well have walked. But all the characters in the play are, of course, fictitious.
