Jack the Giant Killer Pantomime Script by Eric Fowler

Jack the Giant Killer
Eric Fowler
A ’Jack and the Beanstalk’ sequel. (It worked for ’The Godfather!) Well, there is still his huge, nasty servant to deal with you know, and he wants revenge. And surely you knew that the giant had a big brother? Great new script from this popular pantomime writer.

Cast Summary

Jack the Giant Killer: 12 principals
Synopsis

This is the sequel to Jack And The Beanstalk. Opening in a riverside meadow outside the village of Paupersville, a party is in progress to celebrate the triumphal return of Jack having slain the giant Blunderbore. Dame Dimple and her other son, soppy Sam, lead the fun when Mayor Measley arrives with the news that Giant Blunderbore has an even worse brother called Rumbletum who demands more and more food be delivered to his castle, for which he does not pay. He is assisted by the evil henchman, Fleshcreep.

So Jack sets out to challenge the two, aided by the Fairy of the Beanstalk, Haricot, who provides him with a thinking cap and magic running boots, but not before loosing his treasure (the golden eggs) stolen by Fleshcreep.

With the help of a Ferryman who rows him across the river to Rumbleturm Island, Jack succeeds in his quest and may now marry the mayor’s daughter, Jill.

There is high comedy with two builders, Bodgit and Scarpet, who build a new house for Jack, but do so by reading the plans upside down and without planning permission from the mayor. The topsy turvey house that Jack built has to be removed - by Pickfords.

Advantages over Jack and The Beanstalk are not having to have a beanstalk or an onstage giant, and there are just four different scenes.

Twelve principal characters plus chorus, dancers, a panto cow. Children have lines in the school scene and appear as runner beans, elves and fairies.
