| Full-length comedy. The Staff Room of the Prudent Building Society is a good place to relax from the pressures of the front desk. That is, apart from the armed robbery that brings on the sudden birth of twins, oh, and did I mention the shooting... and the arrest of the Manager? Perhaps it’s all in a day’s work?

Reviews
Jen Foster of the Mansfield Chad reviews the Lindrick Players production of Pat in a Bikini in Worksop, October 2007
Company targets, tea rotas and some idiot from head office – Lindrick Players hit the nail on the head with their portrayal of what goes on behind office doors.
Pat In A Bikini, a comedy by Vic Leeds, was a charming cabaret of the unlikely characters that working environments throw together.
The play centres on the staff of the Prudent Building Society, whose allegiances to one another seem to depend on little more than who's in the room at the time.
But for better or worse the office that does not have a Doreen, a Mandy, a Vanessa or a Pat is a rare place indeed.
The too-much-red-tape scene was set wonderfully with a neatly placed fire extinguisher, a supposedly team-building smiley photo of the store manager and the requisite polite notice over the tea trolley.
Know-all Doreen with her anti-management back-chat gives hilarious interludes of rehearsal for her latest spiced-up Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.
Queen of the office jargon, power-dressed Vanessa, tried her best to be above it all but beneath it all was just Doreen in a suit.
Pat, who tried to please everyone, was brilliantly straight-faced – I'd say you couldn't please a crowd more than by putting on a bikini in the second act.
Lippy Mandy, the pregnant office junior, terrorised all who dared to ask anything of her.
Her brilliant array of big heart earrings and tiny skirts were spot on.
The use of that too-oft-heard 'Your call is very important to us' voice during the scene changes was ingenious and the crowd responded with the kind of resigned groans that only call queues can trigger.
