Synopsis
Cast Features two Scotland Yard Detectives tackling a murder enquiry where the major clue is a woman’s wig fished from a wier offering baffling possibilities as the policemen pit their wits against their suspects ...and each other! The trail leads to a mansion in Kent, to a Wimpole street surgery, a Cote d’Azur hotel balcony complete with glamorous blonde, and back to the mansion. It seems a lifestyle the dapper Sergeant Angus Forsyth might aspire to, though his shabby superior, Inspector Popkin, could never fill the bill.
Three other major characters are Cornel Hellas, a wealthy surgeon and charming villain. Annette Rivet, a beautiful French woman, his mistress. The Stranger, a virile cockney who appears only in the last two scenes. Two smaller but telling parts are Maureen, a young Irish maidservant and Barnet, a wily old gardener.

Reviews
‘...What the sell-out Oast Theatre saw was a delightful whodunnit in the best traditions of Christie, Marsh and Dexter.’ Kent and Sussex Courier. ‘...an intriguing play which many companies would find suitable for their audiences.’ Little Theatre Guild of Great Britain. ‘...Everything is revealed when the characters are drawn together at the mansion. It certainly kept us guessing to the end of the play. A good evening's entertainment which kept us enthralled.’ The Woman Writer.
