Cafe Contentious is a one act play about six women who form a ladies luncheon club and have diverse opinions on just about everything including the aging process, marriage, sex, shop-lifting, divorce and life’s vicissitudes. A good challenge for actresses.
Public Speaking. Four men each pop out for a lunchtime drink. The pub is packed so they are forced to share a table. One of the older men is a retired Diplomat, another is a local resident of long standing. The third is a young man who works in a cocktail bar. They are joined by an aging man who was once a famous pop star but is now reduced to touring the country as part of a Sixties Night show. The four men have differing opinions which they put forward fearlessly. Unfortunately, one of these new friends dies suddenly.

Synopsis
Café Contentious and Public Speaking are both one act plays.
Café Contentious is a play for and about women. Thy are very different characters and have joined a luncheon club and meet each week for a chat and, as is the way of a gathering of women, to moan about their loves lives, their bodies, work and the world in generals. This is a very funny play but also has a message hidden in it.
Public Speaking is a play about four men. None of them knew each other when they found themselves sitting at the same table in a very busy pub. A bit like the women, they fall into a conversation and discuss the "old day", work, and the present, two of whom find the age in which we now live, not very nice. One of the four men dies!
