| The drawing room in a Victorian house in London, one February afternoon in 1890. Mrs Leminton invites her daughter’s young gentleman to tea. An old man climbs in the window, picks up things and puts them in his pocket. Hearing them coming, he hides behind the curtains while they have tea. When the room is empty he tries to escape, but her daughter comes in and catches him. She calls her mother, who sends the maid for the police. He says he did it to feed his four children and dying wife. The policeman arrives; the old man tries to escape, but falls to his death in the basement area. They cannot inform his wife because he did not say where he lived. 1 set.
