Synopsis

A play in two acts. Jim Hawkins lives with his mother in an Inn on the Cornish coast. An old sea Captain is their only lodger who is wary of strangers. He has reason to be because he tells Jim that he is being pursued by pirates and that what they are after is in his old sea chest. After a visit from two of the pirates the Captain has a heart attic and Jim discovers a treasure map in the old sea chest. This he puts into the hands of the doctor and the Squire in the village and they decide to charter a ship and sail to Treasure Island. They gather a crew together amongst them a charming one-legged cook called Long John Silver. It is not until they reach the island that they discover that most of their crew are pirates intent on taking the treasure.

Jim’s adventures on the island, the discovery of the treasure and a showdown with the pirates makes a thrilling conclusion to this well-loved story adapted from the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson.
