Last Reel, The Play Script by Ron Pearson

Last Reel, The
Ron Pearson
A killer diller comedy thriller by award winning television scriptwriter. Don’t be put-off by the five male characters, two are quite small and the other three are the sort actors dream about. Two alternate stage settings provided, one simple and another more complex to suit all stage sizes. The plot ... a gripping read. Completely original with a twist in the tail. An absolute must.

Synopsis

It’s Christmas eve. It’s snowing. It’s the lonely Yorkshire dales. It’s a lovely barn conversion - an ideal Christmas card.

Inside it’s warm, cosy and Christmassy as Jack Quarmby enjoys good coffee and old black and white movies, of which he is somewhat of an aficianado.

Not much of a play there.

A visitor. An invitation to have Christmas dinner with him and his family. Things are getting even cosier.

Another visitor and dark clouds on the horizon. By the end of Act I, another visitor arrives and things begin to look rather black.

Act II springs surprise on surprise, yet the comedy never flags. A further visitor wanders in and it ends with blood on the floor. But whose blood?

Ron Pearson’s script is tight, funny and tense and the final last throw of the dice is in the very last second of the play.

So, please, please, please don’t look at the last page, but do enjoy ‘The Last Reel’.
