It’s patron is Lady Luckhurst and she is determined to turn the shop around as she is dissatisfied by the way it is being managed. The current Manager is Greville Bosswell, a grumpy man without much chutzpah. His loyal ladies are Sheree, a very sexy woman, Sall, an unmarried opera singer and Alice, a menopausal spinster who often creates havoc. The local Reverend has accidentally left a large plastic bottle containing vodka, in the shop. He tries several times to find out whether the shop ladies have found it. A rather unpleasant woman gives birth to twins in the shop on the very day that the Queen (who turns out to be a look-alike) is paying a visit. The vodka is accidentally used to make tea so, by the end of the play, the characters are extremely happy!
