Synopsis

Life Begins at Seventy is a comedy/drama featuring four elderly but not over the hill characters who find that one is never too old to fall in love. However, issues from that past must be resolved before one can make plans for the future.

Dorothy and Betty have known each other since childhood and their constant bickering belies a deep held fondness for one another. Each week the pair meets at the same café in order to spend the day together. Betty arrives, late as usual, and asks if Dorothy would mind meeting on a different day from next week. Meanwhile Tom and Bill are enjoying their game of dominoes in their local when Tom shyly reveals that he that he ’got talking’ to a lady whilst buying suet in the local supermarket. And they say romance is dead! Bill could not be more surprised, it is he who has the reputation for being one for the ladies but wishes his friend well.

What none of them no is that there is a connection which could spell disaster. How will the characters react when all is revealed? Why is the waitress constantly trying to eavesdrop on conversations in the café? Is it really possible for someone to forget the past and live for the future? This affectionate comedy will warm your heart and make you believe that life really can begin at seventy.
