| Wonderful version of this childrens’ story. The traditional tale is faithfully brought to life here. Geppetto, the Woodcarver, longs for a son. The Star Fairy will grant his wish on condition that his puppet, Pinocchio, proves to be worthy and good. Old Nick is determined that this should not happen. Adventures take us to Stromboli’s circus, to meet clowns, Macaroni and Spaghetti, and onto, and into, the sea and inside a whale. Finally Guardian Conscience, Jimminy Cricket, guides everyone to a happy ending.

Synopsis
Toy maker Geppetto and his barmy wife Rissotto at last have the son they
longed for, even if he is a wooden puppet! The Star Fairy promises to make
Pinocchio into a real boy once he has proved himself to be honest and
truthful, but wicked Old Nick has a wager with her that he can make
Pinocchio naughty and disobedient. Pinocchio finds this all very difficult
as so many people try to lead him astray, but the Fairy gets Geppetto’s
apprentice, funny Jimminy Cricket to help her. Follow their adventures as
the Clowns, Spaghetti and Macaroni, from a travelling Circus, persuade him
to bunk off school and follow the Circus. The wicked Ring Master Stromboli
imprisons him and he is forced to perform in the Circus. After Jimminy helps
him to escape, Pinocchio has to rescue Geppetto and Rissotto who have been
swallowed by a whale!! There he meets up with Long John Silver and Captain
Hook, before being rescued once more by his companion Jimminy Cricket and
Local Hero Tony. The Star Fairy and Old Nick battle for supremacy, aided and
abetted by a small Fairy and a Gremlin. An unusual and exciting pantomime,
with lots of fun, adventure and audience participation.
Eight Principal characters, and an interchangeable chorus of Villagers,
circus folk, sea creatures and school children.
Five main scenes, alternate scenes are performed in front of main curtain or
tabs.
Specially written for amateur performance, it can be staged simply or as
elaborately as required.
Production notes are included to help with staging this pantomime.
