| Original pantomime based on the famous nursery rhyme, ’Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross’. Wicked Prince John has seized the land around Banbury and given it to Sir Quickley Grabbett, which upsets the true gentry, Lord and Lady Fiennes. To complicate matters, Helena Fiennes and Stephen Grabbett want to get married. Can it ever happen? A good fun script and something really different.

Synopsis
Lord and Lady Fiennes, the local Banbury gentry, are looked on as benevolent landowners. Unfortunately their mean neighbours Lord and Lady Grabbett, newcomers to the district as a reward from King John, are looked on with disgust. Which is quite a trial for Helena Fiennes and Stephen Grabbett, much in love in a Romeo and Juliet situation. Luckily they have good friends in Gawain, a travelling troubadour, their tutor monk, Cuthbert and the sheriff’s offspring, Melissa and Edmund Hansdowne. With their father, Sir E’Slee Hansdowne and his constables Lore and Ordah keeping the peace, it is easy for Lord Grabbett, aided by Hangum and Bashum, notorious thieves, to concoct a plot to take over the Fiennes lands by disrupting the annual spring fertility rite whereby Lady Fiennes rides the town boundary on her white horse. The plot fails through the intervention of Ma Baker and her simple son, Danny, and Helena and Stephen are allowed to find true happiness together.
Cast of 17 main characters with a chorus of townspeople, country ruffians and a tour guide.
