Synopsis
A storyteller to the side of the stage sets the scenes. Beautiful but vain Queen Electra possesses a magic mirror obtained from Aladdin and guarded by two Chinese servants, Ching and Chang. The mirror holds Electra under its spell and tells her of her beauty, but angers the queen with his candour regarding Snow White, returning to her father’s kingdom, King Boris the Vague. Electra’s plot to be rid of her stepdaughter with the aid of Hugo the woodcutter is thwarted, and Snow White finds herself in the cottage of seven peculiar woodland folk. Meanwhile nurse Nora Natterjack and her son Sammy, distraught by her disappearance, help Prince Valiant to search for the missing princess, only to apparently reach the cottage too late. Saving his love with a kiss, the group hurry back to the palace to rid the kingdom of evil.
Cast of eleven principals, with seven minor roles as woodland folk and a chorus of courtiers, servants, two evil spirits and forest creatures.
