Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe, The Pantomime Script by Bruce Gardner

Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe, The
Bruce Gardner
Unusual, but traditional, panto. Life is fine for the large family living in the shoe until, one night, in a storm it is washed away to sea and Captain Blackbeard’s pirate ship hoves in sight! Adventures continue on the island of Alongfa where they meet the dreaded Chief Budleigh Salterton and his wife, Wigan Pier. Plenty for your chorus to do as well here.

Synopsis

Despite defamatory stories to the contrary, Dame Martha Muddle and her friends enjoy a cosy life inside her giant boot. Until, that is, a terrific storm floats the boot away on a flood where it sails off the South Seas, only to be discovered by pirate Blackbeard and his motley crew. Fortunately the pirate ship is struck by the boot and sinks, leaving Blackbeard and three of his hapless friends to be rescued and join the fun aboard the boot. Washed up on a desert island, they meet Chief Budleigh Salterton and his wife Wigan Pier and are warmly welcomed; too warm for Ted and Robbie when they land up in a cooking pot! And equally for Nicky unless she can be saved from Bloodboiler the witchdoctor’s plan to send her as a sacrifice to the volcano, Wottalotapuff! Peter Piper hurries to the rescue with a vegetarian substitute and everything ends up happily.

Cast of about 12 principals with chorus taking children and islander roles.
